For non religious females dates it's easy and amost effortless but for this particular case it isn't straightforward without being inappropriate.

From my personal experience with Muslim friends and with somebody I knew personally who dated a Muslim. You will definitely be rejected. Muslim women date Muslim men. Unless they are not religious or don't practice their religion or belief system, nine out of 10 times you will have to go to her father, or male figure of the home and ask for their permission to court her. At the same time a lot of these girls are already betrothed to somebody who the family feels that she should marry. That's how many of those religions go. Even in Indian religion as well. It's very similar, different gods is all.

You don’t approach a Muslim girl. You approach her father for marriage. This is the halal way. After you have fathers approval (assuming you are Muslim yourself) then you can proceed to marriage meetings which her father or wali will be present. You can have as many marriage meetings as necessary to get an idea of who she is and what to expect from the marriage.

A hijab does not make you a Muslim nor a bare head makes you a non-Muslim or an open Muslim. It all depends on how stricktly an individual sticks to the correct mandatory commandments and pillars of the religion.

Also, many people make the wrong statement "Muslims don't date". That is rubbish. Generally, practicing and true Muslims (specially women) will date but only if they know it will lead to marriage. What they might not welcome is physical activity before marriage. And if they do, they'll be doing hiding from their family.

Last but not least, a true Muslim woman will know that she cannot marry a non Muslim guy.
