Best way to confess your feelings to your crush without making it weird?

In a previous question I posted today, I asked about if my male friend (who is also my crush) has feelings for me. Everyone who responded said yes, so now I'm feeling a little more confident about my feelings for him.

However, I'm still a little on the fence because I do not want to make him feel uncomfortable or awkward if he does not feel the same. I'd rather not (potentially) ruin our friendship... Though I feel like he is the kind of person to be respectful and mature about it even if he doesn't feel the same but I hate the awkwardness of it all.

What would be the best way to confess my feelings for him without it being awkward? Should I do it in person? Over text? Phonecall? I don't want to put him on the spot or scare him away. But I want to be straightforward.

When you ask him out make it clear that you also value your friendship so if he doesn't like you, you can still be friends. When I asked my girlfriend out, I had decided to ask for a relationship to stay the same it was before I asked her out if she would have said no. I know for a fact you can be friends with people you find attractive. Some of my best female friends are like that. The other ones I don't find the least bit attractive. The thing is all the female friends, except one, that I found attractive know this because I told them. Granted I knew they were in a relationship then, but we remained friends afterwards.

I confessed my feelings for him on text yesterday and he said “i dont want to hurt your feelings in any way possible but the thing is that we dont even know each other that much and for us to take such a huge step without getting to know each other first wouldn't be right so how about we first try understand each-other or become friends possibly and then u could probably confess later when u feel like time is right.” So I think I basically got ‘idk u enough to like you’ zoned 💀 go for it tho yolo

Ask him what kind of girl does he like, and would he like a girl like you... then tell him that you like someone close by... ask him to guess... lol. I don't know, I haven't played this "crush" game in a while.
