Should I call my boyfriend baby if he calls me baby?

My boyfriend has recently started calling me baby and I love it but I’m not sure if I should call him that too. It feels a bit weird to and I don’t know how to naturally say it. What if he doesn’t like being called baby? He says stuff like “good job baby you did so well” and “I love you baby” so if I was to start calling him baby, how should I naturally say it?

For a guys intire life baby is used when were bullied and in insults such as "oh baby can't lift that" or "oh stop being a baby" and you have to choose the name
