We've been seeing each other on and off for 4 months now, but we're not exclusive or in a relationship. He calls me baby when we hang out face to face, but not through text. I jokingly asked what I should call him one day, and he said whatever I want. Would it be okay if I text him "goodnight baby"? It feels awkward doing it the first time!

the fact that he doesn't call you baby through text implies there's someone he doesn't want seeing your texts another lover maybe? i'd suggest calling him baby but don't text it to him after all i'm sure there's a reason you're never baby in his texts
