How long does it normally take guys to fall in love?

I’m in a relationship with a guy for almost 8 months now. We’ve been dating for 11 months , official for 8 months. I told him I love him at around 4 or 5 months in. He said he’s not at that point yet, and it takes him a lot longer. That was 3 or 4 months ago. He still hasn’t said he loves me :(

I’m worried he may never love me but why is he in a relationship with me? I only said I love him once cause I don’t want to make it awkward for him since he doesn’t feel the same. I’ve never been in this situation before. Guys always say they love me first.
