Once and only once - I thought she was a whore when I first met her in school so I wasn't interested at all at first but as we had to sit next to each other we started to talk and she became my best friend - I fell in love with her and told her but she didn't even believe me because of my own stupidity:telling her we're just friends, talking about which chick I'm seeing next week - As I said I never thought I'd like her let alone love her - But she has something about her i can't explain - I've read something in a book by Robert Greene that we get intensely attracted/vulnerable by people who have a quality that we don't have - I'm still trying to figure it out - What I know is that there is something I always felt when she hugged me but never acknowledged it as something important (I don't like to be touched and shown affection usually) - Anyway I think she sees me as a friend and even if not she likes male attention a lot (has many guy friends) and is disliked by most women - I used to laugh at those guys who fell for her and look at me now jesus...

There was a girl growing up who I deeply admired. She was always so very outspoken and funny. She knew her worth and was very confident. She was athletic and sociable but also very kind and personal. I never saw her be rude to anyone. But I did see her stand up for herself when people did her wrong.
She was always very blunt and never minced words but she knew how to draw a line and be respectful when she needed to be. She could take a joke just as well as she made them and always made people feel heard.
Why I never told her this I still don't know.22 Reply- +1 y

+1 yYes, only once in my life while I was in college. I fell in love with a woman who was my best friend. I hanged out with her almost everyday when I was still in college. We talked all the time and her personality was amazing. She was a strong, independent, sassy, and artistic woman. She was more driven than anyone I knew and I cherish every moment I was able to be with her. Unfortunately for me, she was dating her highschool sweetheart when I met her. I never wanted to try and make her leave him, even though for a while, she was spending more time with me than him. This was the first and only time I have fallen in love. I don't see her much because of the pandemic now.

Maybe I was. I try not to think about her too much anymore, since we don't see each other much. I've been told I should just move on and look for something else. I do miss her sometimes though.

I dont think so... cuz she was clear with her words that as a partener she does see me at all... and im now engaged n im happy too... and if she will regret something thatd be the friendship thing and maybe that at times i got hurt by her... but i always hope she is doing her best in life... and she was also never wanting to hurt me whole time but at this situation she just couldnt accept me and that was her right to decide what she wants n doesn't want... she never thought i was bad person n i never think like that either... just we both couldnt be together n thats it. It did hurt a lot ofcourse but i know its her decision so yea
1.3K opinions shared on Dating topic. Yes, I truly loved this girl I dated, I loved everything about her, even her constant temper, but since I was so young it didn't really last long or go anywhere.

+1 yYeah. I thought she was the coolest person. She was so extroverted, awesome to talk to, extremely relatable, and then she played with my feelings. :(

But I forgot to say, I wonder when we feel this way and the other person does not feel the same; are the qualities in the other that we fall in love with qualities that we miss within ourself and really need to develop to be happy? And then the other person do not feel the same because we lack what we see in them and they donβt have the same void to fill? Or maybe a completely different one that we still not possess?

Now thatβs very interesting. After our little break up I did notice I was turning into her. Maybe it was because I hit puberty, but I became more outgoing, I met new friends, had awesome experiences that not a lot of people say theyβve had, and I graduated early from school even when I had flunked out the previous year. So I think you could be right. I think that sometimes we do project ourselves onto others, and it comes back to use hard.

Yeah, same here. I have noticed that I fell for a girl who was performing her own songs very confident and how I after I got over her started to record mine I had hidden in a drawer. Another time it was a successful guy and then I applied for university etc. But itβs gotta be something that really is a true connection? That more has to do with our original selfs and not what we need to develop in our life?
+1 yYea, and she was a child groomer (in the process of grooming ME) 😂 so i regret a lot of things about that

Sometimes I have had guys confess their love for me out of the blue and I have not felt the same, like at all. I wonder what it is about, because I do not look like a model and have not flirted with the ones I am thinking about. I think they see me as kind and very sensitive and that is it. I just wonder if men has a fantasy about a woman being some kind of mystery woman or if they see her as a human being they can connect with π
