So I stand 6'8 at 24 (I've been this height since I was about 17).
Up until just the end of last year I weighed in at almost 250 lbs. Was easily in the dad bod category maybe bordering on overweight.
Currently I sit at just under 230lbs. I've lost at least 20 lbs of fat and gained 7lbs of muscle and I've gotten somewhat ripped to the point that I now have a flat, well-defined chest and stomach with abs. When I sit down now my stomach and chest still feel rock hard, which is something new that I'm not really too used to yet.
I have never really had a serious girlfriend yet (though I do have a massive crush on a woman I really like).
Still forever alone.
See the progress for yourself.

All hope lost?
No way! I'm ''just'' 162cm tall and it's never been a problem with ladies! I tried wearing platform shoes for a while, but it just felt like lying so I stopped.
Although I admit I'm well built and stocky in a taurine way, so maybe that could make up for my height?
Five feet eight is NOT short. Average height for American men is 5'9". Most movie stars are around 6 feet tall. . Robert Downey is 5'9" Pitt is 5'11" Anthony Mackie is 5'10". Chris Pine is 6. Chris Evans too. Chris Pratt and Tom HIddleston are 6'2. But we have outliers like Chris Hemsworth who's 6'3, Dwayne Johnson, Jeff Goldblum, 6'4".
Big has always been impressive, and it looks just as impressive in person as it does on camera. So Movie actors are usually above average in height. But since the camera adds 15 to 20 pounds, they are below average in weight for their heights.
Let me compare my boyfriend to his brother.
Boyfriend is 5'9" to 5'10" and built. He handles horses and livestock all day long. Broad-shouldered, barrel-chested. The sort of muscular you get from years of hard work.
His brother is 6'1". More slender shoulders. Not as broad-chested. Side by side he looks in a way, delicate, despite the fact he works a similar highly physical job.
.
There's something very satisfying, I don't know a bit animalistic to have all that strength, with my boyfriend in bed. Whereas were he his brother it's just average joe.
What Girls & Guys Said

Girls will not consider a guy if he is short. Sorry their just isn’t anything you can do if you are a short guy. other than be a billionaire. they simply just hate short guys. Even if you are taller than her it won’t matter unless you are tall. because she will still prefer the guy who is even taller. if you are under 5’7” you will not get a girl. and if you manage to she will eventually leave you because she found someone taller. it’s the only factor they consider. they don’t care about personality they don’t care about confidence they don’t care about muscles enough to where it effects their height preference, and no believe it or not they don’t care about money either unless you are very wealthy. it’s height. All studies confirm it.
and here I am a 5’5” guy with a child. i was very successfully in high school. I looked like a short Andrew Garfield but not buff. i got girls then. But once highschool is over and they are no longer young and naive kiss all your chances with females goodbye because they will now only care about height.Personally I like super tall (6,4 - 6,6) average body guys. But that’s probably because I’m 5,10 myself.
And no all hope is not lost for men under 5,10. Most women just like a guy to be taller than them no matter what his hight is. So as long as there are girls 4ft and under, men 5ft 10 and under will be alright.I'm on the short side, 5'2 so 5'8 guy would be perfectly fine for me. The ideal is 5'10 or 5'11 for me personally but I love muscles on guys and tall but I don't really like guys who are tall and lanky or even "just average" like the guy in the first picture. It looks almost funny to me.
women hate short men. the youtube channel "FACEandLMS" did a series on what attracts women and read out horrific comments about short men. Women say nasty things about them. the short thing is not in this video but its in another one
https://www.youtube.com/embed/Xvtw8W0PBhcI'd preferably want to date a short guy. The muscles don't matter to me, it's more of a height thing. Short guys are just convenient, y'know? If he's close to my height (almost all dudes are taller than me anyway since I'm short) he's easier to kiss and hug. I've dated guys as tall as 6'7 and I just wasn't enthusiastic about the height difference. I don't really know how to explain it, but there's something alluring about dating a guy that's me-sized.
Lmaoo why are the men in the comments pressed that some women just don’t perfer short men? Like you’re not everyone’s type and a women isn’t shallow if you aren’t her type
5’7-6’2 slim toned fit
I'm short myself, so of course I would date a guy below 6 feet. Where I live, most men are below this height and a lot of them have partners, so I doubt, in the end, women actually care about the height. It's something someone immature would say - ”Oh, I only date guys above 6 feet”.
On the other hand, I don't think I'd date a short & muscular guy. I'd much rather date one who looks normal (I think the one in the pic you posted is severely disproportionate).I'd like it if a guy was taller than me, but I have dated shorter guys than myself he must of been 5"7 and I'm 5"9 and that was a meaningful relationship so it's all about what works. Majority of girls just want a guy who's taller than them and most don't mind if they're the same height
Honestly, at 5'7", I would prefer a man who is 5'11" or taller. My dad is 5'11" and it's a great height, my ex was 6'3" which was perfect. Men 6'4" and taller are too large for me. I had an ex who was 6'5" (maybe 6'6"?) and it was a struggle keeping up with him when we walked.
Fear not Apope16, I am 5'8" and not a body builder, and I have never lacked for the attention of the distaff side of our society. Most of my women friends have been smaller, and a couple of them taller. Consider Michael J. Fox, Tom Cruise, neither of them are 'big' men. Chin up, Bro !
Oh no, I'm less than 6 ft. I'm only 5'7, oh no...
I am the kind of person who has strict standards on whom I will give birth to. I am not going to pollute my genetic line with some short guys genes. I don't care how much money he has... that doesn't mean I would not marry him... I just would not be bearing his children.
I think extremely short women with extremely tall men looks a little goofy. I don’t see why women need a guy to be 6+ inches taller than her to be satasfied. 3 or more inches seems pleanty. But I see women who are barely 5 foot who want a 6 foot guy. I don't know, women that short give off young teen girl vibes. I’m 6”2 and I personallly wouldn’t want to date a girl that’s below 5”6
I'd rather date a guy who love me for who I am, and don't care about me being ekstremly tall. I think we should start to stop carrying about the height of a guy, and guys who waste time building unnecessary muscle too
My boyfriend is 5'9 (I'm like 5'8), I haven't given it any thought, but there are shallow girls out there
I'm 5'10" and I don't feel particularly tall or short. When I was in the navy the tall guys would often get disqualified from flying anything that had an ejection seat. We used to feel sorry for the really tall guys.
I suppose women are genetically programmed to seek a tall guy just the way men seek round hips and larger breasts.I prefer the tall average guy as long as he's not fat. If I were a petite girl, then I wouldn't mind dating a guy shorter than 6 ft, but I'm simply not short myself.
As a short guy thats 5'4 I dont really give a shit if women my height or taller want taller men, but when a woman thats short AF thats like 4'6-4'8 wanting a tall guy thats pretty weird.
On a side note, it seemed to me men who were shorter than 5'10" received a lot of bullying. Whereas men who were taller than 6' hardly experienced it. With the exception of the short man syndrome.
