+1 yYes not a problem, it’s down to compatibility and how you both are as a couple.
People often get too hung up on age and not things like dating people we are not really compatible with or don’t tick all the boxes.
being happy is a huge part of any relationship and having someone you can connect to is important.
the biggest hurdle can be friends and family on both sides, getting them inside ASAP is really important.
interests and values are really important when you are entering a relationship, it brings you closer than most other things in life.
Also saying no would be rather hypocritical of me lol..19 Reply- +1 y
Obviously think safety but it’s a case of being happy as well.
It’s worth making sure a friend etc knows about it as well. - +1 y

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yIf you're not interested in a long term relationship all that matters is that you're having fun. However, if you want a long term relationship what matters isn't age. It's maturity and life goals. If you're compatible in terms of those two things then age is just a number. However, age is often a decent indicator that you won't be compatible in these areas (although there are many exceptions to this. I'm actually married to a man 16 years younger and we have a great marriage. However, he's also very exceptional in that he is compatible with me maturity wise and in terms of life goals. That would not have been the case with the significant majority of younger men)

If you want to. Just bear in mind older people might have some kind of coercion against you so be alert to that. Also consider that some people are single at 40 for example for a reason.

I've been out with girls 22 and I can tell you this they are smarter they are wiser they're more confident some of the people that I know that are my age it has been a very very good experience but parts were good friends she just opened up a business but I think you could learn a lot from a person that's older than you weathers dating or even just being a friend the guys that I work with their wives are always trying to hook me up with somebody and they're in their twenties so I am my age and I do have a lot of friends in their twenties or thirties and I mean they come to me for advice we just friends so experienced it whether you're dating or just a friend

+1 yOnly if neither of you have a problem with it, if your only worry is what people will think about it, then yes. If it actually bothers you or him, than no.

age gaps matter for only 3 reasons:
1. age of consent: you are both adults so this one is moot
2. relatability: you already claimed you can relate to him pretty well mentally.
3. lifespan differences: this is the only unknown to me, if he looks younger/healthier than most his age, then this is also moot, if he looks heavily aged however, then you might need to consider that you may live longer than him and you will be alone in your last years. - +1 y
He might not die sooner, he might live 20 or more years longer than most people, you might live 20 years less, life is uncertain, but lifespan isn't about how many years you existed, it's about how full your health bar is, and how often and how well it's refilled.
Healthy humans have indeterminent lifespans, meaning there is no cap on how long a person can live so long as they maintain good health.
Many people fuck up their health beyond repair before they even reach adulthood though, and they have no clue what things are doing it short of a select few habits or injuries.

Just consider that he realistically could be your parent. If you don't care, more power to you.00 Reply
+1 yNope, my father is 14 years older than my mother, and trust me, they are terrible. My father acts younger than his actual age and my mother acts like she's older than her actual age. It's hard to watch :(
