For those who are dating or now taken, how did you feel when your date said they had a great time with you?

I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend for 11 months. After we had our first date he walked me to the front door and said something along the lines of "I had a great time with you". In context, our date had gone pretty well, however; he didn't send me off with a good night kiss. Because of this, I wasn't sure if he meant what he said or if he was just saying it as a formality. I feel like it really depends on the situation and all the other signs leading up the the "I had a great time with you". Was there flirting? Did you guys have a good vibe and a couple of laughs? Was there any sexual tension? You gotta ask yourself all these questions to know what the sentence means. It's all about the context.

Well, I'm married, and it has been a while since I've been on a date with someone else, but generally the feeling is very little. More like well, that's great, but if you had a great time you'd show me instead of telling me about it.

I mean, a date is a "show" not a "tell", so it doesn't do much for me to get told how great it was. It only feels good if I get shown that through actions, and not necessarily sexual (though generally) it could be opening up more, being invited in for a drink, a kiss, some effort in the same direction.

Precisely, words are cheap, most dating now you've exchanged many over text or the internet before that first date anyway. Dating is a time for actions, as there is plenty of time and opportunity for words on the phone. It's also a time to see if those words line up with reality when you meet that person.
