Do you hate the small town mentality?

Like just settling down and having kids really young in the same hometown you were brought up in

Very much so but I think nothing bad of it. People there seem relatively peaceful and set in life. But I learned after trying to live in such places after spending the bulk of my time in densely-populated cities that it's not for me. I tend to click most with very ambitious people that like to travel and expand their horizons.

I kind of like the restless soul that's discontent to live in a very small world. Well, it's something we'd share in common. When I tried living in a very small town, it's like people are looking forward to spending weekends at the one local bowling alley which is like the highlight of the small town. I found it dull.

Yeah absolutely just moved back from Toronto and I had to go back to my small town in scotland. They are actually what you just described! It was 3 months of hell but now I'm further south ready to take on a 2nd degree

I find when I got married a little over a decade ago that I wanted something a little bit more peaceful/quiet than central Tokyo where I lived. But I didn't want to feel stuck in the smallest town either since I tried that before and got so bored. So I found a sort of balance between on the outskirts of a major downtown area: like 40 mins drive from downtown.

72% of Americans live in or close to the city where they grew up. It doesn’t matter if it is NYC or Hobart Bay, Alaska. None of that that has anything to do with small towns.

It was fine for me because I met a really beautiful woman.
We had a good life there.
Later on after the divorce it's probably time to go to a different, slightly bigger town and meet someone new.

not generally. some are quite sweet and others are just weird and bad. not every small town is the same.

I live in a small town where the population is less than 10,000 people and I love it, but it does have its negative side.
