Do you like small towns?

Even though I live on the coast in Orange County, California I do love the charm of small towns.

Depends what you mean by small town. I don't like the 1,000 person villages with one store, unless it's close enough to a 20k person town with shops and restaurants. Which was my favorite living situation so far. 1,100 person town, one convenience store/gas station, with a bar next to it. And 15 minutes away from the big town (22k people) with multiple grocery stores, restaurants, shops, gyms, etc... I can't stand cities and I can't stand be an hour away from civilization. They're both bad arrangements for me.

as someone who has traveled quite often to bigger town for vacations and such, i have realised how much i hate bigger towns and have always been left feeling more exhausted and tired returning home than when i went for the vacation. bigger towns rarely have something to offer for the soul. usualy just good for more work oppurtinities and nothing else.

Usually not , and certainly not when they have poor economics, they are depressing to me. Usually not, because of diversity, a  small town looks like an office to me , where everyone is a  clone . While a bigger town looks like college to me, with a lot of variety, currents and differences.

Don't know why people like small towns, between the lack of things to do and the fear of judgy neighbors gossiping behind your back I'd rather be in the big city. Admittedly cities tend to be more costly, but still if you can afford it I think it is worth it.

They are cliquish, before ads and surveillance, filter bubbles, AI and face book/SM, there were small towns. Where random gas station clerks knew your schedule or if you were pregnant before you did.

I used to but lately they seem to have become hubs of people with an insane persecution complex. Right wing media has really done a number on them and it's very sad..

I prefer villages to towns, also some cities are better than towns for example Cambridge is miles better than Huntingdon or St Neots.

I prefer no towns at all. Strictly rural, walk around naked outdoors whenever I want to kind of rural.

There are very few I would want to live in. Too many things I enjoy that are only available in larger cities.
