I've done that on the occasion when a friend of mine asked me to. That was in high school. I also told a friend of mine that our mutual friend's sister liked him. She was totally into him and hoped someday he would ask her out. I also told him because he was *very* down on himself at the time, believing no one except losers liked him (far from true, my *own* sister liked him too... and given that virtually every friend I had had a crush on her I'd say my sister never lacked attention from men). My friend's sister was also not wanting for attention from men. We all had a crush on her, myself included. Ironically, the friend I told that she liked him was probably the only one who *didn't* have a crush on her. However, telling him did have its intended effect. He knew she was no loser and a lot of guys wanted her, even if he didn't. He perked up on hearing this. I also knew he would be discreet if he didn't like her and would never make things awkward. He didn't disappoint me in that regard.
Epilogue: My friend who I told is now a mortgage officer and happily married to a nurse. They have one kid. My friend's sister is an obstetrician and happily married to another doctor. They have 2 daughters. My sister never dated any of my friends. That's a pity given the long list of asswipes she did date. Ultimately she married an architect, who is not an ass wipe. She has one daughter, my lovely and amazing niece. And I am all alone. 😢11 Reply

+1 yThat could go south really quickly. Is there any particular reason why you want to tell him?

I think they’d make a good couple

I would leave that for one of them to decide. If either of them feels as strongly as you do, they'll make the first move. It's not something you should do.
+1 yI don't think it's a good idea. I think that's for her to tell or him to figure out on his own.

u +1 yone of my biggest mistakes... was when I assumed it was okay to tell something about my friend to her best friends... I wrongly assumed it was "obvious" or that, she told them already or would tell them eventually...
I took the liberty of giving this information without to them, without telling her first... in this case... she had her very personal reasons to not tell her friends but to tell me and only me
I made her feel like she could not trust me with personal things, and that she could not trust my judgment... and I did hurt her
not only I assumed that "it was obvious" I also assumed it was no big deal if I did... anyway... if you have a bit of worry and think maybe you should not do it, then just don't do it... because there's a possibility than you might hurt someone, even if just a little bit hurt or upset... don't know about you, but I just hate to hurt people or make them upset even if just a bit, so I would be careful with this32 Reply- +1 y
She didn’t tell me she liked him. I inferred it from her actions. But thank you for your advice.
- +1 y
well, I would be even more reluctant to do it... because to infer is not actually knowing for sure, it's still to reach to our own conclusions

If he responds positively - then maybe you could mention.21 Reply- +1 y
Hmm. Not a bad idea.

Well, in this case, I don’t think so, unless the woman wants you too21 Reply- +1 y
Hmm. Thank you.
+1 yI would step back, I’ve been burnt doing this and lost 2 friends rather than having 2 friends bond. It might sound easy to help but I would really would leave it to them to sort.
30 Reply965 opinions shared on Dating topic. Rough choice. She likes him, but telling him that could help... or hinder. I would suggest learning more from each about how they feel about the other.

+1 yDon't out someone's perceived feelings without their consent, that's just not cool.
If she is into it she might not be ready to tell him or something else. Either way, it's not your information to tell.10 Reply 498 opinions shared on Dating topic. Why shouldn't you do this?

Did you tell him
- +1 y
I’m not gonna say a word. The more I think about it he’s a really smart and intuitive guy. He’s gotta know she likes him especially with her being so obvious that even N (our other friend) picked up on it. If he’s not gonna make a move that’s his business unless he directly asks me for advice.
- +1 y
See that's what I like about you you always think things through😉
