Th relationship would be fine. The huge issue is that men don't live as long as women. When she's 50 there is a good chance that he's dead. At age 55, she can count on being widowed. Since women in these age ranges seldom remarry (there are WAY more 50-55 year old women looking for men than there are men looking for them) she'll be alone for the rest of her (likely long) life.

I'm not trying to apply undue influence, but differences lifespan is not an opinion, it is a fact of human physiology.

Typically most 40 yr old men have no romantic interest in women that are in their teens or mid 20s. I know this from experience. If they are going after you, over 90% of the time, its almost always about sex or physical attraction

But I wonder more about a 20 yo man and a 35 yo woman that is he more likely to throw her away when she turns 50. I recently ran across this fact in an internet search about Christian author Grace Livingston Hill (who I was stangely googling because of her novels that my late grandmother loved but I wanted to throw across the room) that this is exactly what happened to her in her second marriage after being widowed.

its not about maturity. I have always been mature for my age. I'm 25 and I am told that I have the maturity of a 29-30 yr old. What people need to understand that is people tend to get along best with those who are close to their own age.

When people are similar in age, their thinking patterns tend to be more similar, similar perspective on life, more able to relate to each other, have smoother more interesting conversations, and of course similar levels of maturity hence similar sense of humor. What a 24 yr old might find funny, a 40 yr old might not find funny. There are many basic things a 23 yr old may not understand about life / world yet so a 40 yr old might find themselves "teaching" more than enjoying the conversation.

Exceptions do exist. But these tend to be uncommon and rare.
