So here is a common discourse I have come across in the internet (predominantly feminist spaces). It is that men who want to date younger women (18-23) want to control said women. I will say that this couldn't be further from the truth, even if it tried!
There are two key reasons as to why men prefer dating (or even befriending) younger women, and they are as follows:
1. Younger women look infinitely better than older women: It's no secret that 18-23 years of age (a. k. a the traditional college student) is the absolute age range where women look the best. They have sexy figures, gorgeous faces, beautiful hair, you name it. Not only that but they want to be as hot as possible. That's not so much the case with women who are 24 or older however, as they are overweight or obese, have hideous faces, and grotesque haircuts. To make things worse, older women stop caring about their looks altogether!
2. Younger women are far more likeable in terms of personality: Most younger women actually like to have fun, make friends, wear sexy and skimpy outfits (such as bikinis), have hobbies of their own (whether it be fitness or gaming or art, you name it), want to travel to exciting places for vacations, and have a life outside of work or studies. Unfortunately, older women are the complete opposite, having no fun nor friends, wearing ugly and all-concealing outfits, having no hobbies of their own, not going anywhere besides work or running errands, and having no life outside of their careers. But then again, older women actually gloat about it and couldn't care less since in their view, it makes them smarter but really, all it does is make them even more unlikeable than they already are.
Men who want to date younger women don't want to manipulate them. Younger women are infinitely better both in terms of looks and personality, which is what attracts men and drives men away from older women.
