Depends if I am not attracted to my friend as more than a friend I would then prioritize dates on bumble if I want to meet a potential someone for a relationship so it depends on what I am looking for
So you’d rather spend time with a stranger off a dating app you’re attracted to than a friend you’ve known for a long time?
If I've seen my friend a few times a week or often then yes I would want to meet someone if I wanted a relationship. I'm not neglecting my friend but I also want to get out there and meet someone
If you see them every few weeks.
Yes I would want to see meet someone new. Unless my friend really needed me and it was something they were crying or if they needed me other than that I do not see anything wrong with meeting someone from bumble. Friends should be understanding too
Well if you tell them they’d understand. So you’d be honest? And you wouldn’t just blow them off without telling them why?
They don't need to know every single detail of my life. Sometimes I like to keep things private that or yes I would be honest and tell them I want to meet up with someone I find interesting either or
Don’t most girls on dating apps just get used for casual sex?
Nope. I have been on dating apps and have had a boyfriend through it and a good guy. So it depends on the person. With that said I can easily find out what kind of guy someone is by what they put on their profile or any red flags come out pretty fast and I don't like wasting my time with guys who I may find super attractive but they have nothing to offer but just want sex, or aren't looking for anything serious
Do you think the ones who want serious relationships on it are less attractive?
Not all the time but sometimes
Why do so many girls (good looking ones included) struggle so much with online dating? Some are on it for years and don’t find anyone. Is it that they just keep coming across guys they have no spark with or only want sex?
Pretty much!! I mean I look for specific things. I see some have kids, I don't want to date anyone with a kid, others smoke, or smoke weed all that is a turn off. Some look like they belong in a gang others message with a hey sexy like come on lol so yes we can be on it for a long time and not find any. I usually just delete my apps and not go on any for months and then I get curious and download it since there's new members lol but either way it is hard for me to find a good quality guy at least nowadays
So you’re saying there’s no or very few good quality guys who don’t smoke, want something serious, have a decent job and don’t have kids?
They exist just very very few. There's good guys out there just like there are good women out there it's just digging and getting to know someone once there is one found
Can I ask a controversial question in response to that?
sure...
If you were to be honest - do you mean that there’s very few high quality guys looking for serious relationships out of the ones you swipe right on or do you mean out of all men on the app in general?
I'll put it this way there are indeed good quality guys on the app but I am not attracted to them. Could be that they are a bit overweight for my liking not looking for 6 pack either also some are atheist and things like that. So there are more quality guys but I'm not attracted to them. There has to be some form of attraction
Hope that answered your question...
Yes that answered the question. Thank you. I know this is controversial (and I’m more than happy to be proved wrong) but I think most women say the same thing and generally a lot of women don’t find the many good quality men on these apps physically attractive enough to want to swipe right on them. I think this issue is an online thing though because on many of these swipe apps, people of all genders do judge primarily on physical appearance. Studies have shown this.
Yes I agree with the fact that the photos that are uploaded do no justice lol but yes it is best to meet someone in person. Online anything in this generation sucks though, people don't want to communicate on phone anymore but texts only which things get misinterpreted a lot
I think it’s just the nature of the apps. With so many people to swipe through and photos being the first thing you see, someone with an amazing personality could get completely overlooked because they don’t look good in photos. And naturally people who look good in photos will be physically good looking people. Offline it’s different because you can experience the whole package and someone less attractive can compensate for it by showcasing their personality.
I agree with you on that. It’s definitely best to meet someone in an open setting like a group, work or somwhere in person rather than these apps
A suggestion. Have you tried paid dating sites? Perhaps guys on those will be more serious? Or have you also tried going for an older man?
So no not paid dating apps and currently talking to an older one yes. But I am not interested in a relationship at the moment. I am content in my life right now
So you’re just in there to date casually?
I don't know how this conversation is leading towards me now but I am not interested in dating period. I don't have the apps downloaded I am happy being single
Oh I thought you said you did have the apps.
I have them yes like my picture is still there. I just delete the apps from my phone because I’m not interested in logging in if that makes sense
