How Many Beers Is Too Much On A Date?

I went out with someone, and he had 3 beers for dinner. He was fine and didn't act any differently than if he had had no beers. He drove me home safely. There is alcoholism in my family, so I'm wondering how much is too much? When is it time to say something? I don't drink but I don't know anyone who doesn't drink.

Unless you're out drinking together lol, I'd say 3 should be the max. for a date. But especially if you weren't joining him, I'd keep an eye on that if you see him again, just to see if he still does it (again), or how many? A lot of people would choose not to drink on a date if the other person isn't joining them. But some would anyway (as obviously this guy). But, is it a sign of a problem? It's something I'd personally look at if I were to continue seeing them. Just see what happens on the next date, and the date after (if it gets that far) lol

I think it generally depends on the person and how much they can handle but besides that I would be cautious the moment a person drinks his third beer especially if it´s a bigger glas like in your picture.
Not only in terms of his behavior in general but also in terms of his manners because I´d consider more than three beers on a date as turn off depending on how long the date goes.
There are way more drinks that you can have than just alcoholic drinks and I also know people that put themselves in danger because of alcohol.

Beers you are more than a bit tipsy after, have clear changes in your behaviour or personality are too many. How many exactly that is will depend on you

But drinking and driving? That's a red flag even if he didn't act differently. Depending on the local alcohol limit for drivers one beer might be alright but definitely not more

From experience, if he had 3 beers and is still sober I'd be concerned he's a functional alcoholic.

Do you think men and women are different when consuming beers? For example, I had half a beer and I was walking sideways. I know a lot of men at the college I go to who are heavy drinkers. Would they all be functional alcoholics?

Say your a big man over 6 feet tall and weighs around 300 pounds. Three beers is like nothing to them

But say woman that is 4 foot 5 and weight barely a 100 pound. A half glass of the same beer will knock them on their ass.

Its how much alcohol the body's liver can filter in certain time frame, how much solid food is in the stomach to. Because food will absorb some alcohol and go though the blood stream though the guts and bypasses the liver.

So that to will slow down the affects of alcohol.

Probably six months. We were late 20's. I broke off, with her crying when she had too much to drink. Could not continue, as much as I cared about her, and she was beautiful. She called me 3 years later while she was in FLA. and said she was in a 'program' after a DUI and almost killed her 10 year old daughter. She must have card about me too, but not enough

Three drinks is not really that much especially if he is an experienced drinker and average size or bigger. With that said, if I was on a first date I would not have more than two drinks, especially if the girl was not drinking. It can be a real turnoff if you are not drinking and your date is.

If I am driving the answer is ZERO. If however, I will not have driving duties later my drink count depends on what I am drinking. On a romantic date if I am not driving I limit myself to no more than 2 drinks. If we are doing a casual thing like playing pool or darts with friends most of the time we are drinking a low alcohol content beer from the tap. I can drink many of these and not feel them. Just depends so much on where and the circumstances.

There is no true number of beers or drinks of any other alcohol which tells when it is too many. Everyone is different. Usually tell tale signs will begin such as slurring words, slight stumble or a little disorientated.

That's entirely on you to figure out. Everyone is going to feel different. If it weirded you out, then keep an eye open. Maybe it was nerves or something. If you don't like how much they drink, then don't go out with them anymore.

There seems like about one too many before driving. It's going to depend on body weight and time. I would be reluctant to get in a car driven by someone that had three drinks over dinner.

For most people I would somewhere between 4 and 8 is good

Like 5 is getting to the point of just drinking and not dating. Depends on the size of the person but 5 or more will usually mean a sloppier night, so especially if it’s dating and not a one night stand it might be better to have less than that.

When I was dating I drank a lot. Often the girl did too. It was the 80s and people used to drink a lot more than they do now.

It definitely depends on how long the date lasted, your size, and the size of the beer. 3 beers in 2-3 hours is not a big deal, but 3 beers in an hour or less is a little much. I'm a big guy and 3 beers isn't much, but on dates with someone I don't know very well i usually stick to at most 1 drink an hour.

I'd say 3 is, you gotta be careful even though he's fine and most people can drive fine with 3, if you get in a wreck you can still get in trouble, I used to drink 2 but now I'll only have 1 if I'm driving
