I don't know what you mean by 'I'm mid'. But honestly, ask him out. A lot of men would be thrilled to not have to be the one doing the asking, and they may have no clue how you feel and wouldn't ask you on their own.

You don't have to be blunt or crass about it. But if you can find a quiet spot to ask him or even just have them meet you someplace you're comfortable, go for it.

The answer is actually simple at least for me. We need to have good conversations like give me the feeling that you love being conversations with me, online and offline alike.
Including that you also start or iniate conversations, if we find common interests in values and different topics chances are high that you at least stand out to me.
If we can laugh with each other and spend time or share a hobby we both like it´s more likely I fall in love with you.
It may take time to get but the more time we spend the easier it gets for you. Especially as I will recognize your interest if you tried to iniate some talks because that alone is something that rarely happens to me.
