How do you know your type?

I never feel satisfied with the people I date. I have no idea what my type is. I've dated people I find attractive and not attractive but both give me the same feeling. I've talked to people who have things in common and polar opposites. I just like being single and I haven't found anyone that makes being with them feel better than being single.
