How do you know if you are someone's type?

Other than looking at their previous partners, how would you know? I'm talking about personality and physical (body shape, race, height etc)

For all guys I have dated the first conversation were alway an argument or some form of banter against eachother. So challenging guys will be one personal trait, also they always turns out to be a sadist somehow... Look wise i dig for clean and shaved with a nice style, body wise I always end up dating very active people... all 4 had six packs... and height wise they have to be talllllllllll!!!
