Does makeup smell?

So I've been on dates with 4 different girls and I immediately noticed a smell as soon as I they got in my car. Couldn't ever put a finger on what it was until today my latest date I gave this girl a kiss on the cheek and she had a smell the last time we went out and this time it wasn't as bad, but when I kissed her on the cheek it was very strong leading me to think it's the make-up. I read up on it and realized it can get too old and start giving off an odor. Opinions?

Some makeup foundations have a scent, also there’s the basic smell of every makeup basis if the foundation is made with natural ingredients, it’s like odour of wet sand and it’s because they’re done with fermented cereals.
I suppose you have a very good smell sense so you perceive the smell of makeup that usually is covered by the perfume girls use (and I suppose the 4 girls doesn’t use the same perfume).

I still remember the green makeup on my 7 year old best friend.. the smell was so strong like a musty clay.. Smells have a stronger link to memory and emotion than any of the other senses, so I can understand if a virgin guy wards off girls for the rest of his life because the first girl he was with didn’t know proper hygiene lol

So is this something you can smell periodically from across the dinner table? Maybe that's what I've been smelling, it's a similar smell on each girl, but you would think with all the dates I go on I'd have noticed this a long time ago.
