How to approach more girls?

I've been single now for 1 and a half year , I didn't want to get to know other girls before I was sure I have overcame my ex.

For a few months now I am starting random conversations with girls when I go out and I am being very polite and everything as it should, and successful in starting such convos. But few of the girls are emotional wrecks, some have a boyfriend but I find it out on our 2nd-3rd date. I get dissapointed and dont want to deal with anyone after such scenarios.

How to get motivation? I know there are girls with great personality and looks but I dont have 3 lifetimes to ask every single of them out on dates and trying to find out if they are really single/interested/emotionaly stable.

How to deal with this situation? I am 22.

There’s something called the Law of Reversed Effort, such that “the harder you try, the harder you fail.” My very unsatisfying advice to you is thus to simply stop trying. (For what it’s worth, I am in your same boat. Dating apps are full of people wanting hookups and the people in my area are all completely different than I am and do not interest me.)
