Guys, if a girl says she's embarrassed to meet you after confessing her feelings, how would you feel?

Lets say you guys have met before. But then suddenly one day she confessed she has feelings for you, and you asked her out, but she said she's embarrassed to meet you after sharing her feelings. How would you feel?

she thinks that she's overreached and will now be expected to put her money where her mouth is.
in other words, she didn't mean it as much as he may think she does. now she's embarrassed about having to "walk back" the comments. not a comfortable situation; hence, embarrassing.
kinda fishing around in the dark here but that's how it sounds to me.

I would feel, "Awww, that's so sweet," and I would try to convince her to go out with me, and I would try to be as nice to her as possible so she would feel comfortable with me and not embarrassed.

She took the risk of telling me about her feelings for me, thereby exposing herself to possible rejection. In other words, she trusted me with her vulnerability. I am now in a position to make her very happy, or to hurt and disappoint her. How could I do that to her after she trusted me with her feelings? (Of course, this assumes that I am unattached).

This actually happened to me back in the early 1960s, when I had just graduated high school. She was someone I knew in high school a little bit. She was two years behind me. In this case, she didn't tell me, but she told a friend who divulged her secret to me. I thought she was really nice, and I was actually kinda thrilled about it. So I called her up and asked her out. She later told me that she was so excited that she kicked a coffee table and damaged the leg! I thought she was great! She was beautiful, sweet, and funny! She became my first great love. We were together for four years.

Confused, if she just confessed her feeling towards me you think she would want and has wanted to meet for a long time, why would she be embarrassed she already did the hard part now go see where it leads hiding and avoiding someone is only going to end up in a depression of what if and what could have been don't go through live asking your those questions

For me that would sound like she´s embarrassed to be seen with me and it would make me question if her feelings are actually genuine or fake.
