Why would a guy fall for and commit to a girl who he knows is genuinely a terrible person?

Does a girl being a horrible person actually make her attractive or more attractive than other women, to some guys?

I'm talking about a girl who bullies other girls in front of him, treats him like dirt a lot of the time, hits him, throws his stuff in the bin, is racist, everyone thinks she is a nasty person. But he is smitten and thinks she is "the one" over everyone else.

Does it make her more attractive? Why would he choose her over other girls who are nicer people?

It's strange.. I don't get it either.

People want what they want- sometimes there's no explanation. Sometimes we like mean people more than nicer people because we have to work harder for their validation, which in turn, tricks us into believing they are more valuable than they are.

So maybe she keeps him on his toes. And if he gets her (hard-earned) validation, he feels it is worth more and gets that boost to his self-esteem.

What if she was just above average-looking or "okay looking" though? Like cute, pretty but not insanely pretty enough for it to overshadow her lack of personality? And he could get hotter girls than her?

I’d say more than likely he likes to be dominated. There’s men out there who pay for women to physically dominate them or talk to them in a demeaning way.
