My daughter will not have a "boyfriend". No dating allowed in my household. Instead, all guys who talk to her would have to go through me first. I will vet the guy, and then if I think he is a good person, he can propose and make it official. I will be very strict in my criteria of what a "good person" is, i. e. religious person with good morals and one with a job.

My daughter will grow up a traditional lifestyle, so he won't have to worry about being traditional to a modern woman that's not appreciative of it.

Finally, no white people allowed. For both my sons and daughters. Doesn't go well with the ideals I'm trying to raise them with. I don't sugar-coat and I don't believe that white liberals believe in this "racial equality" crap that they are pushing, because recent history has shown us that they are hypocrites, and I certainly don't want my kid marrying no redneck hill billy either. I will encourage them to marry black, but if they don't, then they cannot marry white. They will not be allowed to bring one home. Period.

When my daughter started talking about this boy that she was mutually interested in, I invited him over. My husband and I picked him up from his house so we could meet his entire family. Both kids were nervous, but my husband and I were kind and polite. They ended up dating all through high school and split up their senior year due to different life goals.

Actually my daughter's first boyfriend was my favorite. Shook my hand and called me sir when we met, even though calling me sir wasn't necessary. He had a part time job and saved money to take my daughter out. Offered to help me with a roofing job I was doing on my house. This kid was a winner. Solid and responsible. Good in school. Good looking boy too.
But alas she fell in love with another boy who was a bonafide loser. A scumbag with no job, bad marks in school, and who didn't even comb his hair half the time. I know his father who was a dirtbag as well.
And since then my daughter has been seeing a string of losers and morons. I don't know what she sees in these jerk offs, but I don't interfere. She's an adult now and it's none of my business unless they put their hands on her. And one of the first things I tell these mutts when I meet them is that if they ever hit her and I find out about it, they're dead. I'll hunt them down and I'll send them to the emergency room. Don't let my age fool you, I tell them. I'll get it done one way or the other. They know I mean it.
I had a father-in-law who made it a point to show me his gun collection when I first met him. True story. I got the message believe me lol. So I've been that young man meeting her dad for the first time.

There is no ''would'' - my daughter is now married :)
What I did: not much, actually. I knew my girl, and I could trust her judgement and her correct enough manners.
In fact, I felt very happy for her when she -14 years old- immediately let me know about her 'first kiss'.
Unfortunately, I never met her husband to be, as my ex-wife had put a wedge between us later on; and at that time I already was overseas; resolute to never return.

I am thoroughly amazed at how accurately some dogs can read people. When my brother brought his future ex-wife home to meet the family, their chow chow walked into the guest room, scowled at my brother, and raised his leg to her luggage.

I am equally amazed at how inept young women are at spotting a total loser. My self-help book for young women will be called “The Myth of Women’s Intuition.” Not only does Women’s intuition not exist, Women will save themselves a lot of heartache when the recognize this.

If a man appears to be a jerk to her parents’, friends, pets and his ex-girlfriends, she does not have some special insight into some wonderful qualities everyone else missed. They need to learn the difference between love and lust. I think Paris Hilton is gorgeous, but I wouldn’t go out with her!

Never let her date a teenage boy. Most fathers... mad and dont want their daughters taken advantage of... also mad when a mature older man wants to court her the right way. y'all make zero sense. NO teen boy is both good enough to date a girl AND not there for sex. So zero teen boys are suitable dates.

She will date older men who come to family dinner first and who try to court her for marriage not ones who just want to take her on a date.
