Guys, Long distance break-up?

I meet a guy on a online dating app, and we hit it off pretty fast. The next three days things were heavy with affections and professing feelings. I didn't try to stop it I liked him, and I hadn't had such nice things said to me in a long time. We were long distance from on another, and wanted to meet one day, but things changed once I realized I wasn't the only one he was talking to. No apology or explanations. Now he pretends he doesn't know I exist. Is this normal?
