I think if it's strong and impacts communication severely, it will make the dating process difficult. I've been there, I was much younger and the guy was stuttering so much I was literally staying still waiting for him to start a word every couple of seconds, he was for sure very embarassed too and I was sorry for him. Imagine how mortifying it was for him, and awkward for me too because I didn't know what to do to not worsen his situation. But he had it very strong, communication couldn't flow, not even the non-verbal one, because stuck in waiting for words to come out. (I wasn't actively looking for a partner and it wasn't an actual "date", so I turned him off regardless).
If you're not at this level, but have only some hesitation time to time, and communication is not impacted overall, then I see no big problem. You would be just perceived as nervous/insecure and you can surely work on that if it's light. But even insecure guys get dates afterall, sooner or later.
By the way, the guy I mentioned with severe stuttering, got a girlfriend in the end, not much after our date. He had other good qualities and communication was better when written, of course, and good. I assume she was actively looking for a partner and given him a chance by writing more messages than speaking until she was convinced of his good personality (with this quirk, but oh well, she must have learnt to love it too!).
So yeah you do have a chance too. Maybe you wouldn't be a latin lover surrounded by girls on the beach but afterall you will most likely settle with 1 girl, not 20. :)
