Let's say you own a Ferrari and a penthouse, and he only owns a Camry and a two-bedroom apartment. Would you date him? Or even have a baby with him?

It depends on what you mean by less successful.

I read your update and in comparison of the Ferrari to the Camry and the penthouse to the 2 bedroom... no.

Love is a gamble and the least unscathed a person can come out of that gamble is the best bet to take.

I've already been there done that with a guy I've tried to get to grow with me. Some guys will use you for a come-up to explore the options they've always wanted but were unable to entertain because of their previous lifestyle. I don't think all guys are like this but one does wonder. Is he going to stay loyal to me or is he going to ditch me now that he's able to get a Ferrari and penthouse of his own to attract other women? That's the fear. Not that he's unable to provide as much.
