Yes I am aware of the term and its meaning and what it applies to but what bothers me is how this has become a fashionable catch all explanation for literally any kind of minor pause in communications which often results in people rage quitting out of relationships be deleting and blocking people on social media etc over nothing at all.

I strongly dislike people jumping to conclusions and assigning the label that someone has ghosted me when in reality they themselves have made no effort what so ever to maintain contact.
