What's the most hurtful way you've been ghosted?

Mine really got to me for a bit.

Recently I met someone on bumble and she gave me her number. We texted for about a month while she traveled the country. She finally came back into town and expressed interest in meeting me in person. We had tea and talked for hours.

During the talk, she mentioned how she doesn't ghost people. She thanked them for their time etc. She also kept getting up to use the bathroom (8x) over 2 hours.

Tapping her foot, she said she was tired and we agreed to call it a night. She said she'd text me and we left. Later that night I said it was a good time and that I like her. She said she felt the same and from that point, she ghosted me for about a week, not a word after the date night.

She pops up again with a nose ring and apologized for going quiet. Something something sleeping and reading the whole time. Another week passed by with minimal texting (her messaging me first) and she ghosted me for good.

I think for me, it was when I tried asking out this female friend of mine around a few months ago. Tldr; we were really close friends for over three years already. I'm using "were" because after she blew me off, we pretty much stopped talking to each other.

One day, she was just feeling down about her ex being an asshole (they had been broken up for over a month now), so to cheer her up, I suggested we both should meet up for lunch sometime during our summer break. She liked the idea and agreed we set up a day. The night before, she cancelled because her best friend from school was getting married, so we postponed it to a few days later. Again on the night before that other day, she cancelled on me again, saying she had a party to go to and she completely forgot about our lunch date. I knew she was bullshitting me, but at this point, the signs were clear, so I didn't say anything to her.

After that, she started acting completely distant towards me, as if she was avoiding me altogether. She'd ignore my texts or just not bother answering until half a day had passed and even then with one word replies. That's when I figured out that it's best if I moved on from her too.

As for you my friend, the way I see it, she met you, wasn't interested and basically decided to call it quits. I'm sorry, but girls can be ruthless like that sometimes. Better to just move on.

Yeah, what gets me are the lies. I can understand a quick "Hey, I'm interested in someone else." I would take it in stride, as I have in the past. The suspense is really annoying. It makes me not want to actually care about any of them. Sadly, that jerk she's referencing is the one she really wants

Speaking from experience, most girls would prefer not coming clean because they want to avoid drama and confrontation as much as possible. So they'd rather lie because they think the truth will "hurt our feelings" when in reality, they themselves don't want to face the truth

Like in march my best friend of 7 years ghosted me and blocked me, then for the next couple months randomly unblocked me and fucked with me when I was offline. Just being an asshat. Eventually after his friends messed with me too I told them to tell him that if he wanted to talk and sort out his differences that was fine, but the shit he was doing was getting tiresome.
So we talked and he said that he thought I was a waste of time so thats why he left (then blocked me agan). Fine reason just the way he went about it was horrible and it stuck with me for a while even after we "made up"
