What should I respond to this: “I just want to focus on the job and school and focus on our relationship as well” I honestly don’t know what to respond: but should I say: it’s going to be fine trust me! Or something else?

I think what you need to do is figure out why it is difficult to respond. Is it because his message is ambiguous? You don't understand what he means? What he is trying to accomplish? Or perhaps you don't want to respond in a way that can be interpreted as insensitive? Tell him your predicament and let him help you solve it.
