Because OnLine that person for you can be perfect, and vice-versa, can be the guy/man you dreamed of, and you can be the woman he dreamed of... when in person might not like how it sounds, looks, taks, walks, might have a short temper, might be too much of a joker, etc, etc... But online can be safisfying as he "talks" only with his "brain", no gestures that you might not like, no funny/funky smiles, etc, etc... so yeah... and plus hou can create all the "scenery/time/space/rp, you want, which could trigger curiosity, and that leads to continuity of Discovery...😉

I don't feel the same way and haven't put myself in this situation. I believe it is because social media and phones kind of stunt or limit our communication. We become more filtered. We think about our responses more. It allows many more red flags to go unnoticed by the other person. We always present our best selves on social media. It's harder to lie and hide when it's face to face, and that person can meet your friends and inquire about you a lot closer. If you met and dated a man in real life, you could talk to his friends about the past, see how he kept his apartment up, how he is sexually, and how he treats others outside of you.

The distance lets you build an idealized picture of the person, whereas seeing them in person forces you to come to terms with the person they are, much faster.
