Am I wrong for thinking this isn’t right?

I’ve been dating this guy for almost 5 years now and he has two kids who I love and get along with great etc …but for the past year or so he’s always taking off to go do shit with them either when I’m asleep or when I’m busy with something else and not paying attention. I’ll wake up to a text saying me and kids went here or there etc or they’ll just disappear and I’ll get no text until I text and ask “where did you go?”

You’re not exactly wrong, like it’s not a crime to feel a bit upset, but you shouldn’t let it get to you so much. To me, “always” implies that you are never included, and it’s hard to believe that you miss out on every single thing. There’s just times when he wants some time alone with the kids and/or vice versa. Sometimes kids need that, and this is coming from someone who grew up with separated parents but my dad had a girlfriend. I liked her a lot but there’s times when I just wanted to hang out with just my dad, nothing against her.

It's not right. The least he could do is leave a note or tell you that he wants to spend some alone time with them. His communication skills need to discussed
