Is this your boyfriend that you are asking about? I'm guessing you are not a cheerleader. I'd advice you to stop worrying about your boyfriend's "type". People change, their preferences change. It says nothing, it means nothing. Just because someone is a cheerleader does not mean that they are rude, or nice. What does it say about them as a person? Nothing. Maybe he liked her personality, or appearance, or both.

Stop mulling over this because you don't date someone's hobbies or "profession", I guess, but them as a person.

My first date was a cheerleader. You couldn't attach any kind of stereotype to either one of us. For one thing we were both shy, which probably isn't what people picture of a cheerleader or someone who dates them.
