Why does every boy want to date a cheerleader?

Cheerleading is essentially group gymnastics. It requires an impressive degree of physical fitness and has a REALLY high injury rate. Physical fitness is a very selling factor for attractiveness to both males and females. And the skimpy outfits don't hurt.

But most guys are more attracted to the IDEA of a cheerleader than the reality; banal assertions and droning, repetitive chants actually get kind of scary if you get close enough.

Because cheerleaders tend to be in shape and there's the age-old stereotype that cheerleaders put out. And they're flexible, so there's that. Splash in a bit of hollywood tradition teaching people that they're "supposed to" and there you have it. Guys want to date cheerleaders.

Movies. The same reason most girls want jocks. As the generations get more complex, siblings tell stories to their siblings, movies and fictional works blears this out you. Things like you see in older movies most people find boring.

Flexible... and guys like girly girls. Plus every guy needs his own personal cheerleader by his side in life.

Same reason you buy a Ferrari status and bragging rights and because 98% of high school relationships fail getting into a serious relationship is only going to end in heart break so might as well have your fun well you can. But when I went to school probably only 40% of the boys actually wanted a cheerleader but movies and TV play it WAY up

I never wanted to date a cheerleader. In college I wanted to date the acting students.

Never had cheerleaders at my schools. But I was always attracted to them. I love athletic, healthy, active women. Impressive too
