If I was into dating, then my choice would go for the confident man rather than the funny guy.
The reason for my choice is that a confident guy can also be funny to a certain extend but a funny guy does not immediately give the confidence that this person can also be sure about himself.
I am more of a serious person, totally on the opposite of how @PrettyPriya sees herself. However, I can also attempt to be funny if necessary although that does not mean I am successful at it. I am serious because life is a serious issue that is not to be taken lightly.
I have the feeling that a funny person would push aside the serious sides of life and play down the serious issues. I may be wrong but this is how I perceive the situation.
Joking from time to time does not really define the person as being a funny person. Those are 2 different types of character.
@PrettyPriya Nah, it is because you use the wrong mop to wipe your floors. From time to time, you need to wring out the mop...
Out of the two options you list, I will take the funny guy. I live to laugh and love a guy with a sense of humour. I am quite goofy myself so that is the more attractive trait to me personally. That isn't to say I don't like a confident guy but I would choose humour over that.
There are so many more important things than that though. Personality (including humour) is what I look for first in a partner. They should be kind, respectful, intellectual, etc etc. I can go on and on. So long as my partner has a good mix of character traits I look for, that works for me.
As far as funny goes, I love that as a quality in a guy. I am silly and so is my fiancé. We love to tease (lovingly) each other and have fun. I think it is one of the things that keeps our relationship so strong.
Neither is important to me, particularly. And it's a weird this-or-that. No vote for me.
Confidence breeds humour. A confident guy won't have an issue being silly around you, and making you laugh. With confidence comes self-assurance, high self-esteem. He won't care what other people think of him, thus, allowing him to be funny without overthinking it.
Not sure about that as a confident guy may not have a sense of humor
Like a confident guy maybe mistaken for arrogant
Confidence is an emotional attitude which is normally shaped when using courage to build positive refence points when taking on a new task or behaviour.
Someone who is confident socially tends to be laid back and relaxed in there own skin, humor is a universal bonding communication that people use to build relationships, therefore one who is confident socially tends to use banter as a way to connect.
I hardly laugh, if that guy made me laugh, he definitely got my attention..
They both kind of go hand in hand
