He said to a mutual friend of ours that I'm really fit (English word for hot) and she said "are you going to get with each other" and he said "I so would." She told me this. That doesn't necessarily mean he's interested, right? Should I still just wait for him to make the first move?

It means he would kiss you/hook up with you for sure. But he didn't mention anything about being interested beyond that. I think you should talk to him more and see where things go bc it sounds like you barely know each other.
