I’d be going for personality mainly. In my city, there are a fair few good looking women but many of them are not the friendliest. In the end, most women are attractive but finding a good personality is quite a task and is ultimately more important.

The primary characteristic for literally everyone is physical attraction. This is a biological imperative driven by hundreds of thousands of generations of selective breeding to ensure that our offspring are attractive to the next generation and will be able to further the bloodline. For me it's both. Other guys can be more personality-attracted versus physically-attracted. I think the majority are physical though.

However, we know as people that physical attraction fades as time goes on. Infatuation turns into affectionate friendship as the years go by. This doesn't mean sex necessarily ceases & desists completely from the relationship, but you become more appreciative of the person's acts of service and kind words than just sexually exploring them.

Another looking at this is looks are what the "bait" is and the personality is the "hook" ~For guys

Then we got the women where its similar but a lot different. Most women its the looks are generally yeah the bait. But the hook more often than not, isn't the personality but instead, "HOW MUCH MONEY DO YOU MAKE!!!"(And when its a woman generally they are looking for a minimum of 30% more than what they already make. Preferably it would be 100% more or triple or quaddrupple as its no secret a lot of women are high key gold diggers.)

And that's kind of the metaphorical explanation of what the differences using fishing metaphors of what a guys go for and what girls go for. And yes I know not all women are gold diggers but when its well known fact that if a man. Loses their job in a relationship most women gonna dump him like they were handed a red coal from a metal making forge. Where as a woman loses her job a man will keep her probably around cause she's hot and will let her stay in his kingdom as its worth keeping a hottie who can't make money.
