When is the best age to date someone?

I'm not saying I want to date, i want to be mentally mature and well set off for a relationship. My crush recently confessed his feelings to me. I've had a crush on him for 2 years. I REALLY like him a lot and don't want to lose him but I don't feel that it's good for me to date just yet. I need advice from you wise people.

This depends on how you feel. If you reject him because you’re not ready. You’re allowed to do that. You’re allowed to tell him that you’re not ready yet and don’t feel you’re ready.


But. He’s going to probably move on.


Or you could entertain a few dates just to see how it goes and if it’s not working out. Then call it off on good terms hopefully.



But. Truthfully. This is up to you. Let him down easy. Tell him you like him but aren’t ready. Or you can again. Go on a date just to see what it’s like.

The best age is when you're ready to consider both of you not just you in a relationship. When you're ready to put his needs first if you have to. When you're ready to accept his help. When you're ready to be vulnerable and share your emotions with him. When you want to share parts of your life with him. When you want to have fun with him. When you can handle it if he doesn't text you back immediately. When he can have another friend who's a girl and you're chill with that. Also, the best age doesn't mean you have to be ready to get married nor that you're ready or want to have sex. Don't be squeamish about those topics and you'll pay have to talk about at least sex but just dating a guy not necessarily. Date him. Have fun. Get coffee. Enjoy a movie. Laugh about silly stuff.

The time that you start feeling that you are ready to at least try to be with a person and make them happy. For me, that was when I was 17 when I had my first "true" crush on a girl.

That was 4 years ago and I have change (I want to believe for the better) SOOOO much and I think that back then, I wouldn't be as good of a partner as I would now but still, my intention were good and I always wanted the best! So I think I was what you would say "ready" back then.

As for you, If you think that you are not ready and you are so sure about that, then probably you should not do it. Of course, 16 isn't a very young age for something casual that will take it's time so if you think that you are wiling to try and learn, then go for it!

Having feelings for anyone dosen't need an age to start , see if you really likes him and he really likes you, i would say go ahead start dating.
And times would let you know the do's and don'ts in ur relationship.
