Does anyone say goodbye to their significant other at the train station?

Or meet them when they return? I'm thinking in the case when one partner goes on an airplane trip, does anyone take the metro to or from the airport and instead of saying hello or goodbye at the airport, they instead decide to do that at the train station instead?

Specifically, an interesting thing that I wonder if people do is this: Has anyone said had to say goodbye at a subway station, letting your girlfriend or boyfriend get on a subway car, and you don't and you wave goodbye as the train accelerates away, like in the old movies, but instead of a steam locomotive, it's a NYC subway car?

People still both fly and travel by train so I’m assuming they do. Mine travels a lot. He usually uses a shuttle. Sorta the same thing.. still kisses and teary eyes.
