If you mean that love/hate are in a resting state or Atom... and are activate from and exterior behavior that creates and energy force that strikes that Atom... and moves the emotion of either hate or love from a resting state into a qualitatively and quantifiable behavior identifying either construct THEN...

In this way, these two resting emotions, are the same. It can be argued that they are opposite sides of the same Atom or Coin. And in one moment that Emotion of love expressed can be terminated and released as hate. Energy and Voracity are relational in both, however, Effects are often quite different.

There are complications and they rest withing our Intelligent Design, Free Will, and Preferences. War is a prime example of this. What one side loves the other side hates, however, the Energy and Voracity of those expressions are the same. The determination of hate or love is solely grounded in one's preferences at that moment in Time. Being (Soul, Mind, Body) and its frailties from moment to moment make the Human superior and different from all other created entities.
