Why should there not be power dynamics between the sexes? Women are hypergamous- they're shooting for guys better than them (richer, taller, stronger, smarter); so, even a guy their same age will only be considered if he has power dynamics over her.
Women who are 20-22 don't have the baggage of older women. They don't have a chip on their shoulder, or a jaded attitude toward men. They are also less experienced; so, the things a guy does for her may be the firsts or the best (taking her to a nice dinner, a vacation, etc.). There is just something far more attractive about the love a younger, less experienced woman can develop toward you- the look they have in their eyes, that they think you're the greatest thing in the world.
There's nothing a guy values that an older woman brings to the table. Her education, income, etc. just make her less attractive, if for no other reason than she will tout these as reasons why she deserves (fill in the blank).
The whole "I don't need you, I want you," feminist bs doesn't appeal to men. They want a woman to need them; so, power dynamics typically beget a good relationship. The woman knows her place, and the guy knows his (he's expected to protect & provide).
The fact that you find it odd is only due to you being indoctrinated with a feminist paradigm of what is a GOOD relationship. The man and women have to have no gender roles, equal education, equal income, and make no decision unless both party's are on board- that bs DOESN'T work, and women don't even want that when you look at their actual decisions.
Thats a bit messed up to "mold" them, i guess its related to that obsession some men have with virgins. I rather some one with own mind and ability than some sort of puppet... i dated girls like that and man its so dull, you just want them to have their own opinion

LOL It's funny that the guys think they're the ones molding the girls! Those are the ones a smart woman can wrap around her finger in no time. I see it more in my age range where 33-36 year old guys who are ready to start a family want a 28 to 30-year-old woman.
