Girls, what is your ideal age gap with a guy. If you met someone great and he was 10, 15 years older than you how would you feel?

I'm 25, so 35 isn't a problem. But if he's older than 40 then he'll be two generations away from me, you know? He wouldn't get the humor or see the world the way I see it.

I think age gaps are tricky when you're in your early 20s. Like, what does a 20 year old have in common with a + 30 year old? Not that much.

Yeah I get that. Usually girls in their 20s want to have fun and explore, while guys in their 30s want to settle down. But if you're 25 and you found a guy who was like 42 for example. But he was physically fit, mature, had his own place, strong minded, treated you well then other guys you may have dated. Is that still a no in your books?

I guess it would be fine. I've never been in a relationship with such a big age gap though, but I always worry that the older person would have some kind of power over the younger? If we were able to maintain this power thing and be equal in the relationship, then yes it doesn't matter that he's 40.

Yeah, I agree. It would turn off a girl if a man was controlling her.

I don't mind an older man, but I do find it kinda sus if an older man willingly approaches barely legal women. It is a dilemma I was talking about with a friend just today and we agreed that when it comes to older men, younger women are better off approaching them or initiating the conversation themselves and be wary of older men who approach very young girls first.

Yea but let’s be honest. Girls don’t approach guys because they fear rejection. I personally don’t care if an older woman in her 40s approaches a younger guy in his 20s and vice versa a man in his late 30s or early 40s and a girl in her 20s. As long as it’s done with the right intention. I’m only asking this question because it’s tough to meet women my age. They are either married, not interested in me or not interesting in dating/marriage. Some guys have been rejected their whole life from early teens, to 20s to 30s even. Something happens where the guy becomes a man. Finishes school with a few degrees, has a good job, in great shape, has confidence and etc. and what’s something serious. Some men at that point want to date a girl in her 20s because he never had a chance to enjoy his youth and kept getting rejected. I don’t think women take that into account. I think the reason why it’s frowned upon is because all these crime shows, movies, news sources, and etc make men to be some sick perverted sexual deviant. But as I’ve heard from girls on GAG, Reddit, IG and etc is that “not all girls act that way”. I can say the same thing about males, that “not all men/guys act that way”.

I prefer someone around my age. Less than 3 years. I definitely wouldn't date anyone 10 years younger or older.

& I can't see myself being into anyone 10, 15 years older either.

well you're 16, a guy older shouldn't pursue you because of the legality that will land himself in hot water lol. I understand same age or a yr or 2 is ideal for you. But I'm sure one day when you're 28 or 30, it'll be much different.
