To be honest, a lot of girls are really shallow, so like the guy likes you since he's asking you out and believes that even if you don't find him attractive at the start, his best qualities will come out in the conversation!
Also the guy is just wanting to get a chance with you and when you say no, it's worth a shot just saying it because there's nothing to lose
