Dating

Is it possible that maybe we can date in the future? and how should I take all of this?

This is a long story but i been friends with this guy since he was in 8th grade and i was in 7th grade the first time i seen him was in 2014 we would only talk through messages but i guess he developed a crush after years of seeing him again which was today it felt different because we were talking laughing but he has been with this girl for 4 years now but i felt that after years later things were different this time. He want it to see me its not like he said no when my girl friend asked me if i was still going to go visit her, she invited him and he could've easily said no but he had intentions of seeing me. I told him what i have experienced and he gave me advices when i told him what i have been through for 2 years and 5 months of me dating a narcissist.
Is it possible that maybe we can date in the future? and how should I take all of this?
