People who feel downtrodden often overcompensate by getting in everyone's face and being aggressive. They feel entitled to be insensitive to others, believing others have been insensitive to them.
What you're experiencing is guys seeing you as a breath of fresh air, when compared to the in-your-face girls promoted by society. See value in who you are and appreciate being valued for the person you are. You are being given a compliment for being you rather than attempting to conform to an ideal pushed on us by society. Feel good that you are unique, special and appreciated. Clones just blend into the woodwork and disappear.
