A guy asked me on a date and I live an hour away, he wants me to meet him at a place closer to him, would it look bad if I drove 1 hr to see him?

He also said that he's fine meeting me at another location, but there are more places closer to where he lives and I live in an area where there aren't a lot of nice places. What should I do. I just think it makes me look bad to drive an hour to see a guy - any advice would be amazing! thank you!

I drive an hour all the time for first dates, because I like 50 miles away from the big city in the country... so it is an hour each way.

I don't think it makes you look bad at all, if you want to go on the date, go for it. If things work out, the next time he can drive closer to you.

The problem would be, if he wants you to drive close to him every single time, it should be more of rotate and switch off.

I had a lady friend on the Internet, and she asked for my advice about doing what you're thinking about doing. She sent me a guy's profile and pics. Then she would send me screentshots of their phone chat. I would evaluate the data, and give her the green light or red light. The only reason she asked for advice, is that she wanted a second set of eyes, and she wanted a guy's opinion. And besides, I had no dog in the fight, so emotions weren't part of my decision.

The reason I'm telling you this is, because every time she didn't listen to me and went anyway, she got burnt. She would drive a long distance, and he wouldn't be there. All she wanted was onetime sex, and she still got burnt. So don't listen to people who tell you to do it if you like him. It's best to not like ghosts.

Do you like him? If so then go. It’s always the man who seems to be the one to do all the work. If you genuinely like him then go. Nothing wrong w that. Put in some effort, that you’re not all about me me me. You may just be the one to make him realize you’re the one. Maybe no girl has done that for him. He may see you in a different light. Now w that said if he’s always telling you to drive to him, than no. He needs to do his part as well. So maybe next time agree to meet some where new, halfway or he comes to your area. It’s only fair.

Bad look, tbh. I'm also concerned about your safety. Don't drive so close to his home but also don't meet anywhere too close to your own home either if he happens to be a stalker. Have a few trustworthy people in your life seeing your location when you're out. Definitely drive on your own though. Park a little further away from where you meet, again to reduce the chances of him having your license plate number in case he happens to be a stalker.

It sucks that the world is so dangerous out there that we have to keep all these matters into account, but our lives are more important than anything else.

It does not make you look bad to drive an hour to see him, as long as you're comfortable with driving there and back. It would be nice to meet somewhere about halfway, but if you do wind up dating, each of you is going to have to drive to see the other anyway.

No it doesn't and why do you care? Stop making life decisions based on what other might think. And do them for what you want and what is right. If you are willing to drive an hour to date the guy, there is nothing stopping you.

No it doesn't, I live in the Washington DC metropolitan area and sometimes it takes an hour to go 10 miles... I don't even like dating guys who live close to me... less likely to just drop by without calling.
