While waiting for other people to arrive to our group social outing, I told my crush that I walked for over an hour in order to get there. He's the only guy in our social group, and I don't usually talk to the other people in the group as much as I talk to him. Does saying that I walked that far to get there reveal that I'm that eager to be around him in particular and looks desperate? Or will he just assume it's to spend time with the group in general?

Possibly. The way you tell the story suggests that you're scared of being found out, and that kind of implies that maybe there are other tells.

How long have you known each other? What other indicators of interest have you given him. If he already suspects that you like him, this will cinch it in his mind.
