Why would a guy have me run errands with him when we hang out?

During the week when we don’t have anything planned we usually decide to hang out at his place. Usually when I get there he is like let’s go run some errands and we will go shopping at target or to a local sports store. We just walk around and talk. On weekends we might go out to dinner or drinks. We are a month into this and this is the third time we have done random errands during the week. Curious why a guy seems to enjoy this?

I'm not sure why this unusual for you. People run errands. He's asking you to join him, probably so he can spend more time with you. Don't overthink something like this.
