Why does he always bring his friend when he takes me out? He invites me, pays, talks about what I should expect if we date, but we're rarely alone?

We do spend time together after work but whenever we go out to a bar or dinner his guy friend comes. He gets jealous when his guy friend his on me and always talks about what I should expect if we're dating. I just find the fact that he brings his friend all the time and won't hang out if he's not available confusing. He constantly talks about doing things in the summer and asked me to a concert in August which makes me think he sees a future for us but what's up with that?
