The guy suggested for me to show up to an event without making plans to actually meet me, should I go?

I met this guy through a professional Clinical environment and at my last visit he suggested for me to go to an event he was going to. He didn't really ask me to go with him, he made no plans to meet me there, he didn't give me his number or anything like that - but my guess is he was banking on running into me at the event and talking to me there.
After that conversation, a few days afterwards, we matched on a dating app and he suggested we meet up the following week to grab a coffee or a drink or food, but never texted me to make official plans with me and a week's has passed since.
Well, the event is tonight that he originally suggested I show up to, and I'm not sure if I should go. Being that he never texted me and kind of ghosted me I'm not sure if it's better for me to show up at the event, look super hot and make him kind of feel sorry for what he lost and see if he approaches me, or just not show up at all. Thoughts please.

I like the idea of going to event looking super hot, having other guys or one other guy be with you, and then brushing him off if he approaches. But to DO that, you really have to not want him and make him feel it by your actions.

So i did go with my gal pal and saw a guy friend i recognized we were hanging out. I saw the guy that asked me to go there, but he wasn't even looking for me, didn't text me, i think he caught a glimpse of me but never approached me. He walked out of there with his head held high and on his high horse.

lol! I love that. Yes, he is. I was very hurt by the situation because I had developed feelings and expectations for this person and I was very disappointed. I learned that I won't get the time back that I spent upset about someone who didn't even care to take me out. It was a lesson learned! If he wasn't in fact interested in me, he should not have gave me that impression and then never followed up. That was just rude

Well yes, it was rude to give you the impression that he was interested, but it was naive of you to get your hopes up until there were some actions to back up that "impression". That's the lesson you should take going forward, and it's an old one - "talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words". Now that you're wiser, you won't make that mistake again, right?
